Positions include Governor, Secretary, Treasurer, Bulletin Editor, Lieutenant Governor, and Committee Chairs. Serving on the District Board is an incredible way to grow as a leader, make new friends, and make a real difference for clubs across Colorado, Wyoming, the Nebraska Panhandle, and beyond. Candidates prepare speeches and caucus with members to share their vision for the year ahead. All applications are due May 3rd at 11:59 PM If you have any questions, please reach out to our District Governor (governor@rmdkeyclub.org ) LTG Application Chair Application Executive Office The Executive Officers are the top student leaders of the Rocky Mountain District. They’re elected each year at District Convention to help guide the district, support clubs, and represent our members at Key Club International events. The team includes the District Governor, Secretary, Treasurer, and District Bulletin Editor. The District Governor is the chief executive officer of the Rocky Mountain District and a member of the Key Club International Council. They lead the District Board and help set goals and direction for the year. The District Secretary keeps everyone connected by recording meetings and sharing important updates. The District Treasurer manages the district’s finances and helps clubs stay on track with dues. The District Bulletin Editor designs newsletters, creates social media content, and helps tell the story of Key Club across the Rocky Mountain District. Together, the Executive Officers make sure the district runs smoothly, communicates clearly, and keeps every member informed and inspired. Executive Officer Candidacy (2026-2027) Governor Candidacy (2026-2027) Lieutenant Governors Lieutenant Governors (LTGs) are the connection between the district and local clubs. Each LTG works with clubs in their division to share news, offer support, and build community. They check in with club officers, help plan divisional service projects or rallies, and encourage members to get involved beyond their own school. LTGs also serve on the District Board, representing the ideas and concerns of the clubs they lead. They’re your go-to person for help, information, and inspiration! Lieutenant Governors are elected annually at their respective division’s spring rally. Lieutenant Governor Election Process Lieutenant Governor Candidacy (2026-2027) LTG Election Delegate Certification LTG Election Verification Appointed Committee Chairs Appointed by the District Governor after DCON and approved by the District Board, Committee Chairs help lead district-wide projects and initiatives. Each chair focuses on a specific area - Technology/District Webmaster, District Convention, Membership & K-Family, Governance, and Projects & Fundraising. They work with a team to create resources and opportunities for clubs. They help bring big ideas to life across the Rocky Mountain District! Committee Chairs may not always be in the spotlight, but their hard work behind the scenes helps make every event, program, and goal a success. Appointed Chair Candidacy (2026-2027) Candidates for International Endorsement Candidates for International Endorsement are Rocky Mountain District members who aspire to serve in a Key Club International office, including International President, Vice President, or Trustee. Before they can run at the International Convention, they must first earn the district’s official endorsement. These candidates undergo an election process at the District Convention, just like the Executive Officers. Once endorsed, they represent the Rocky Mountain District at the International Convention during that election process, sharing their vision for Key Club’s future and showcasing what makes our district truly exceptional! International Endorsement Candiacy (2026-2027) Jackalope Team The Jackalope Team is a newly established role this year, created to intentionally engage Key Club alumni in meaningful, hands-on leadership and event support. While many districts refer to similar roles as “convention interns,” the Jackalope Team is designed specifically for our district’s culture, scale, and commitment to professionalism. Jackalope Team members will work closely with the District Administrator, Admin Team, District Board, advisors, and YMCA Staff to support the planning and execution of DCON—helping ensure a smooth, welcoming, and high-quality experience for our members. Jackalope Team members will support areas such as: Registration and hospitality Workshop, forum, and session logistics House of Delegates and elections support Service projects, talent, and oratory contests General session operations and attendee assistance This role is ideal for college students or young professionals who want to stay connected to Key Club, give back to the district, and gain practical leadership and event experience. Former district and club leaders are especially encouraged to apply. Eligibility highlights: Key Club alumnus/alumna Current college student or young professional Available for the entire District Convention (from Pre-Con on Thursday, April 9, 2026, through Sunday afternoon, April 12, 2026) Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and Key Club values Benefits include: Convention registration and lodging Official Jackalope Team apparel Recognition in convention materials Documentation of leadership and service Networking with Key Club and Kiwanis leaders Applications are due by February 1, 2026. Paige Outstanding Kiwanis Advisor Named in honor of a dedicated Kiwanian and his service to the Rocky Mountain District, the Frederick D. Paige Outstanding Kiwanis Advisor is designed to recognize outstanding Kiwanis advisors who epitomize Kiwanis’ ideals supporting Key Clubs through their commitment to service. Tony Perea/Carol Wallander Outstanding Faculty Advisor Named in honor of two outstanding faculty advisors for their years of service in the Rocky Mountain District, the Tony Perea/Carol Wallander Outstanding Faculty Advisor is designed to recognize outstanding faculty advisors whose personal involvement, counseling, leadership, and encouragement help their club have outstanding years of service. RMD Key of Honor The Rocky Mountain District Key of Honor is the highest recognition presented by the RockyMountain District of Key Club International to an adult (a Kiwanian, Advisor, Parent,Community Member, etc.) who has a record of outstanding contributions to Key Club withinthe District. Gold Starfish The Gold Starfish Recognition pin is a special version reserved for those who, in the opinion of the District Administrator, have made a significant difference for the Rocky Mountain District of Key Club. There is no quota for presentation of the Gold Starfish Recognition. Rather, they are presented as the need arises. Silver Starfish The Silver Starfish is given to District Board Members to recognize someone who made a difference for them over the course of their service year. Annually at DCON, each Board member is given one pin to present to an individual of their choosing – a family member, advisor, fellow Key Clubber, friend – anyone who made a difference for them during their year on the board. The only requirement is that they cannot keep the pin for themselves. RMD Sandy Nininger Award The Sandy Nininger medal was created for Key Club members who distinguish themselves by making the most of their opportunities. Like Sandy, these members inspire us all to care deeply, engage enthusiastically, and make the most of our lives. The Rocky Mountain District Sandy Nininger Award was established to recognize outstanding contributions by Key Clubbers from within the District. The recognition is for those who’ve gone above and beyond what is expected during their Key Club career. Early Bird Award The Early Bird Award is presented to the club that pays all their dues in the quickest amount of time. Key Club Partners Projects The Rocky Mountain District supports one big project each year, while encouraging clubs to support Key Club International's partners. For more information on specific partners, go to the project's individual website. Some of the projects can be seen under the "Projects" tab. During DCON, our district typically hosts a small service project that all attendees can help out with! We also have booths set up with representatives from different organizations. We even have a Thirst Project representative host a workshop, so you can find out how your school can make a difference in the world water crisis. Check out our current district project

International Convention! Join us by checking here about this year's Convention! 2026 Key Club International Convention July 1st - July 5th, 2026 Dallas, TX Everything’s bigger in the Lone Star State — including Key Club! We’re heading to Dallas, Texas, U.S., for the 2026 Key Club International convention. Mark your calendars and get ready to shine bright with service, leadership and unforgettable memories! Rocky Mountain District Tour The tentative Rocky Mountain District Tour includes arrival in Dallas (attendees book their own flights and arrival) on Monday, June 29th will time to explore the Dallas Arts District that evening, a full day Tuesday, June 30th at Six Flags Over Texas, a visit to the Sixth Floor Museum and Dealey Plaza on Wednesday, July 1st prior to the start of the International Convention later that day. While at ICON, you’ll be able to attend information sessions and workshops, elect the 2026-2027 Key Club International leadership, celebrate service, and have fun with Key Clubbers from across the globe! Expected cost to attend: $1,250 plus airfare from your home airport to Dallas, TX. Fees include: Convention registration Hotel (quad occupancy) from Monday, June 29 to Sunday, July 5, 2026 Transportation to/from Dallas airports as well as transportation to off-site activities Admission to Six Flags Over Texas, the Sixth Floor Museum and Dallas Arts District Tour shirt and Rocky Mountain District pins for trading Breakfasts on July 2-4, lunch on July 3, dinners July 1-4, and plenty of snacks. Every October KCI works to gain money for UNICEF and help out kids. Find out how you can help here! District Project Rocky Mountain District Key Club is dedicated to empowering youth through leadership opportunities and community service projects. Join us in our mission to inspire and mobilize the next generation of leaders. Together, we can create a brighter future for all. This year, RMD will be working with Thirst Project , a KCI partner, on an additional project theme focused on Mental Health. The Thirst Project is a youth-founded & youth-led organization dedicated to ending the water crisis worldwide, with a special focus on Eswatini & Zambia. Historically, Key Club has been heavily involved in Start Strong: Zambia efforts, and we will participate in Walks for Water, fundraising to build a fully-fledged well for a community, creating more social media awareness, & more to come. In addition to Thirst Project, mental health is crucial for teens & will serve as the second project focus. Mind4Youth , a youth-led organization increasing awareness and support around adolescent mental health, will be a key partner for clubs to create mental health care packets, peer mentoring services in local schools, & even sending motivational cards around the world. Thirst Project Thirst Project is a youth-founded and youth-led organization dedicated to ending the global water crisis, serving over 600,000 people across 13 countries and thousands of service projects. They have been partnered with Key Club International for multiple years, but RMD is strengthening our connection by: Fundraising for Wells Creating Awareness Hosting Walks for Water MIND4YOUTH Mind4Youth is a youth-led 501(c)(3) charity committed to supporting adolescent mental health and making resources more accessible to such a dominant issue.
