What? DCON's SMT?

To be a part of the social media team, is to be a part of DCON itself. Yes, as attendees you are a huge part of District Convention, but the social media team is significant in the sense that they choose what gets captured; essentially they are the voice of the weekend. They save the moments that you never want to forget! From attending previous District and International conventions, I know that the first thing I do when I get home is upload and look through all of my pictures. Well imagine this, not only will you get VIP SEATING at all events, but the photos you take will be PUBLISHED on the district website as well as in future publications! How exciting is that?! Your video clips may appear in future promotions and you will get to spend time with a small group of Key Clubbers from all over the District and compete for prizes as you upright upload, and update!

What exactly does the SMT do?

  • Update Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr before the DCON and during.
  • Sit up close during events with all your new friends as you take pictures and videos.
  • Have the opportunity to interview special guests (CU Baffoons, surprise guest speaker, kiwanian's, organization leaders, board members)
  • Work with the technology chair on small assignments that she gives you throughout the weekend.
  • Have access to the internet  during the weekend.
  • Receive a cool customized piece to add on your nametag!

We are especially looking for those who are tech savvy and find themselves good behind a camera.
